Valerie's Shower

A week or so ago we had a baby shower for my little cousin Val. She is going to have the first great grandson in our family (Quinn is the first great granddaughter). We can't wait to meet little Gavin. He will be a loved little boy with such great parents.

Here are 5 of the eight siblings.
It was so nice to get everyone together. It is so hard since we have family in Washington, Utah, Delaware, North Caroline, Pennsylvania, Maryland and... well, I am sure I am forgetting somewhere else.We played lots of games and ate lots of yummy food including salsa that Laura made... (yes, I said Laura!) hehe. It was so yummy.I have to say though, I think that my favorite part was seeing Quinn and Elsie together.

BBC LOVE

I love BBC. I honestly think that I could watch and get hooked on any of the shows on BBC America. I like Antiques Roadshow, Bargain Hunt, You Are What You Eat, Torchwood, Doctor Who and now Being Human.

I really like Doctor Who. A LOT. I even own the first four seasons. (of the remake)

There is going to be a new Doctor soon though. I completely understand that it happens. After all, David Tennant is the tenth doctor. I just love his facial expressions and think that he fits that part perfectly.
This is David Tennant.
This is the new guy, Matt Smith

He is my age. 26! He is the youngest Doctor ever. I am not so sure about him. What is up with his Flock of Seagulls hair? I understand that the Doctor is eccentric but come on.

Lastly, a new show on BBC America called Being Human is destined to be a favorite of mine. It is about a ghost, vampire and werewolf that share a flat together. (perfect for me since I love anything vampire right now) It is a nice change from the romance of Twilight (and horrible acting) and the over the top shock factor/mature visuals in True Blood.

Random Photo Shoot

The other night we were babysitting for our friend and Quinn was being such a ham. While the boy was building with the blocks, Quinn sat on the container and just looked so cute to me. I had to take some pictures!

Sunny Days...

Playing with Chalk- yes, that is Frosty in the summer!!!

Going for a ride with Mia!!

Sandy Point State Park

This last weekend Dan, Quinn and I met Dad and Annette at Sandy Point State Park. It is on the Chesapeake Bay (right before the bay bridge). There are little playgrounds to play on, woods to hike in, and "beaches" to soak in the sun from. We decided to play in the sand and water for the day.
Dad and Dan played Frisbee

We got to play in the water. It was so nice and warm!!

The many different faces of Quinny (the one above this to the right is her "boil" face. While it is rare... watch out!

It was very sunny. Quinn got to wear Grandma's hat!

(notice the proud Grandpa in the corner??)

There is nothing better that pulling sand through your toes!

Quinn asked Grandpa to show her their Jeep. It looks so different from other cars. (You know, ones with tops and sides :)

Grandma and Quinn had a hard time saying bye.
