Our kitchen was just the most horrible room ever... in any house... ever. Well, after some tlc and a lot of elbow grease, it is starting to get nicer. The kitchen floor was one thing that was just super disgusting. It HAD vinyl roll .
Then we had a buddy of ours (Keith) come over and help us lay the new cork flooring.
We pulled it up with gloves on our hands
and a saw to cut it into sections for easier removal.

The underlayment is also cork and it looks like a cork board.
Dan is showing off our new flooring plank. 1x3 ft and oh so lovely!
When you lay them down, they sort of snap into place. Like tongue and groove pergo flooring
And TAH DAH! all done! The boys did a great job and Dan got to play with his miter saw :) Everyone is happy.

I love the look! How difficult was it to lay? How about the sub-floor? Do you think I would lay it?
How aobut the cost? What did all of it cost you? I would really like to make that my next ptoject.
LOVE the new floor!! You guys are truly amazing with all the "do it yourself" improvements. I am so afraid to attempt any "do it yourself project" (with exception to painting and hanging shelves) for fear I'll screw things up.
Mom, the cork floors were about 4 bucks a sq foot and the underlayment was about 50cents a sq ft. So... all in all not too bad considering how great it looks. The underlayment was very easy to lay. the cork is "floating" so it was pretty easy and there is really no mess at all. The tricky part is to make sure you cut it all right
Wow! I can't believe how much work you guys have done, your place is lookin really good. I can't wait to come visit. I aam so happy that things are going well... miss you guys!
